Blue Cow Story: Actually Caring About People

A few years back my wife and I celebrated our Anniversary at Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant in Idaho Falls.  Our server, Chandra had waited on us many times before. During dinner my wife and I exchanged cards and a little gift, which Chandra noticed and asked us what the occasion was.  We then ordered dessert to share.  Chandra brought out our caramel fried ice cream (go try it if you haven’t!) and set it in front of us quickly as she went about her duties. She had written on the plate in caramel, “Happy Anniversary.”  Needless to say, there was a little extra in the tip for her. Now, every time she waits on us, I think about that night and how sweet and thoughtful her gesture was. I then usually order another caramel fried ice cream.
